Services

Education:

I will offer evidence-based information on infant care, common feeding questions, and developmental milestones. I can also teach you baby-wearing techniques, safe sleep practices, and how to interpret your baby's cues.

Sibling Care/Integration:

Caring for your newborn and their siblings simultaneously can be hard. I can support their adjustment to the new family member by ensuring everyone feels included and cared for. For example, while mama and baby nap, allow me to take care of the laundry & engage their siblings. Or have them lend a helping hand getting lunch ready while we sing their favorite songs.

Community Resources:

Need help with breastfeeding? Want to know where all of the best parenting groups are? Feeling anxious/depressed and in need of a therapist? I’m here for you with all of the resources you may need. I will curate a list of resources specifically for your needs, using connections I’ve made with dozens of trusted perinatal professionals in the Bucks County area.

Emotional Support:

As your postpartum doula, I am here to listen to your feelings, hear any concerns you may have, and provide reassurance. I am happy to hold space as you share your birth story and am always there to offer a hug.

Physical Recovery:

It is essential to get as much rest as possible after birth for a smooth recovery. As your doula, I will offer practical advice on self-care, breastfeeding support, and newborn care. I encourage rest as much as possible and recommend pelvic floor therapy and chiropractic care before stepping back into an exercise routine.

Household Assistance:

To ease the transition of bringing a new baby home, I will help with light housework, meal preparation, and sibling activities. This allows you to rest and focus on bonding with your baby.

FAQs

  • The word “Doula” is a Greek word meaning “woman’s servant”. A Doula is now known as a person who is trained to serve, nurture, and hold the mother- all while bridging care providers together to create a net of support. As described by DONA International (the leading organization for training and educating birth/postpartum workers), a postpartum doula’s main goals are to nurture, educate, assess, and refer.

  • Some (of the many!) benefits of hiring a postpartum doula include:

    • More rest and recovery time for parents

    • Reduced postpartum anxiety and depression

    • Increased confidence

    • Infant education and tips

    • More sleep

    • Improved success with breastfeeding

  • A postpartum doula typically starts their service shortly after the baby is born, sometimes the first night that the baby is brought home, but often within the first few days or weeks. This timing allows the doula to provide essential support to parents as they navigate the early days of parenthood, which is often when there is the greatest need for rest and recovery. Every doula is different, and I am happy to consider clients up to 6 months postpartum.

  • Having family and friends close by is wonderful, especially for those nights when you need a warm meal, or someone to sit with the baby while you shower. A postpartum doula can help with those things too! In addition, they will also provide educated guidance on safe sleep, feeding, and infant care practices, as well as emotional support, breastfeeding support, and resources for the whole family. As a postpartum doula, I have been trained on how to best support you and your family postpartum.
