As a postpartum doula and friend to many mamas, I wanted to share some of my favorite gift ideas that focus on HER (not just the baby).
When a baby arrives, there is often no shortage of cuddles, gifts, and visits spent fawning over them and their newborn squish. People tend to neglect the fact that the mother is new too- and she needs to be held even more than her baby.
Shifting the focus of your visit from allllll about the baby, to the mother’s needs, is one of the most impactful things you can do as a friend or family member.

Gift a new mama with a warm cup of her favorite coffee, a new mug, and a peaceful moment of chatting with you about whatever is on her mind. You might ask her about her birth story, how she’s feeling physically, or what she needs help with the most during this time.

Write her a letter of encouragement & add a gift card to her favorite beauty store!
Volunteer your TIME. Whether it’s taking her out to brunch, watching the baby while she naps/showers, or helping her with laundry, your gift of time will not go unnoticed
